[딸에게 쓰는 독서 편지]RICH DAD POOR DAD 읽고

휀아.
작년에 이어서 올해 아빠 목표 중에 하나가 원서 읽기야.
몇 권 목표인지는 휀이에게 이야기했었지.
그래서, 올 첫번째로 고른 책인 로버트 기요사키의 "Rich dad poor dad"이야. 

 
 한국어로 번역된 " 부자 아빠 가난한 아빠" 책을 오래 전에 읽었었어.
벌써 책이 나온지 20년이나 되었는데 20주년 특별판 원서가 있어서 읽었는데 딱 2주 걸렸네.
작년보다는 좀 빨라진 것 같긴 해. 
 
처음 한국어판은 읽은 지 오래되기도 했고
그 때는 사회 초년생이라 지금 보다는 덜 와닿은 것 같아.
이번에 영어로 읽어면서 더 저자의 생각을 잘 이해할 수 있었는 것 같고
몇가지 기억남는 것만 적어볼게.
 
"The poor work for money. The rich have money work for them."
"Rich people acquire assets. The poor acquire liabilities that they think are asset."
"Asset add to your income. They put money in your pocket. A liability takes mony out of your pocket."
"The cash flow tells the story of how each person handles money."

"To become financially secure, a person needs to mind their own business."
"A corporation offers a lower income-tax rate than individuals have."
"Old ideas are some people's biggest liability."

어쩌면 당연한 말처럼 생각될 수도 있어.
저자가 직설적으로 말해서 잘 전달되기도 하고
다르게는 아빠도 이제 지난 경험이 있다보니 
고민하다가.. 생각만 하다가 미루고.. 기회인지 모르고 놓치고 난 다음 보니깐 달리 읽혀지더라고.
 
늘 이렇게 마무리하는 것 같지만 
휀이가 좀 더 커서 아빠가 저 말을 좀 더 풀어서 이야기해주고
그 때 휀이도 한번 읽어 보면 좋을 것 같아.
